If you follow me over on Instagram, you will know that I am very excited about my next project!  I am helping my mom remodel her 1983 Airstream Sovereign into a shabby chic cottage.  Yesterday I took my followers on a little tour of Rose and talked about all of her challenge areas.

The entire Airstream has awful wood paneling that makes it feel dark.  The vinyl paneling is discolored and needs to be refreshed.

I had begun to paint the bunk area a few years ago before I headed back to school and just didn’t have the time to finish.  Again, dark paneling and a plastic curtain that will not work.  fridge

My mom wants a shabby chic cottage feel in the camper.  She has already purchased the apple green sofa and we will pair it with baby pink and white.

More dark paneling…

The bathroom is going to be the biggest challenge.  I need to find a mosaic tile that is light enough to lay on the floor that it won’t weigh the back of the trailer down.  I also want to go with a mosaic because it has more room to flex.  Using larger floor tiles would be a bad idea because they will pop and crack.

So here is the list of things that need to happen before Memorial Day…

  1. Empty the Airstream
  2. Tape and paper the floor and windows
  3. Paint every single surface white
  4. Sew new curtains for the front
  5. Sew new curtains for the bunks
  6. Tile bathroom floor
  7. Find solution for vanity
  8. Find some mirror and have it cut
  9. Install TV/DVD combo in bunk area
  10. Make a curtain for in between bunk and kitchen
  11. Make beds
  12. Accessorize
  13. Stock up Rose for the weekend!
