Welcome! Welcome to my new home! I took the plunge (by accident), and purchased my domain. I guess I’m committed friends, I’m in it for the long haul! I will be transferring my old posts from my other blog slowly, so both sites will be up for a bit. If you can’t find your favorite post here, you can check at inspirationliberation.weebly.com.
Today, my mom and I had the awesome opportunity to host a baby shower! My mom provided the house, and I provided the decorations. It’s a win-win. I was inspired by this baby shower from jenniferjonesphoto.com. I love the natural organic tones of this baby shower, but I especially like the clothesline! That teddybear kills me hung by his little ear. I found the teddy bear on our line at Target. I also found the onsies, socks, and little caps there too!
I took my chalkboard over there, and wrote the little man’s name on it. I love the name they picked out! I told Melissa, the mom-to-be, I will be addressing little Greyson, as Dr. Greyson James. Positive affirmations, or subtle suggestions from infancy, is what I say. I free-handed the chalkboard this time.
Ok, I have to be honest here, I’m not a fan of diaper cakes. I think they are chessy and corny. You guys still love me, right? I was looking for ideas for the shower when I came across a cake that did not have rattles and diaper pins attached everywhere! With the help of my husband, I forced those stacked diapers into a round shape and tied them up with twine. I then wrapped lace over the twine, and then tied another piece of twine over the lace. I used all removable parts, that way Melissa can use these diapers if she would like.
I also made a clothesline for the food and beverage table. I’m so excited about this project, and I will post a tutorial later this week. I can reuse this for parties in the future, and that saves me time and money! The drink dispenser and three tiered basket are from my house, the jars I will re-use this summer for canning, and the buckets are from Target’s One Spot. I tried to save money by using items I already had, or using items that Melissa can use for the baby. I love it when it works out this way. Who wants to store all that stuff?
This shower was so pretty and sweet, but not girly. I love the mix of burlap and chalk, the mix of glass and tin, and the softness of the white contrasting it all. I can’t wait to meet sweet Dr. Greyson!
